Cosi Fan Tutte - first rehearsal

Great first rehearsal last night for Cosi, which I'm singing with Tessitoura in the summer in various venues around Bristol.

It was a finding-out-the-ideas rehearsal, and a character exploration. I think I'm going to enjoy be Don Alfonso. We're setting it in the Second World War (so when the boys leave to carry out the trick on the girls, they come back as GIs), so Don A is a black marketeer. Worldly-wise, non-commital, doing what he does in the opera just to keep himself amused for a while and really not all that bothered about much but the next drink.

This is going to be a great production - there was so much fun and energy flying about last night.

Spent time today getting to grips with learning the score.
